Welcome to The Cecchetti Society Trust Newsletter.

In our spring Newsletter we are delighted to announce that the Trust will be presenting From Studio to Stage on Sunday 14th May 2023 at The Royal Ballet School, Covent Garden. With a programme of interviews, lecture demonstrations and performances from young dancers and professional artists, it promises to be an inspiring afternoon.

An important part of the work of the Trust is to support those who are studying the Cecchetti Method as students and teachers, and in this Newsletter we are pleased to report on the recent allocation of Teacher Study Bursaries, and invite applications for Student Summer Study Bursaries.

Trustees send their Best Wishes for the Easter season and hope to welcome many of you on 14th May 2023 at The Royal Ballet School.

From Studio to Stage
Presented by Cecchetti Society Trust

The Cecchetti Society Trustees cordially invite you to attend From Studio to Stage on 14th May 2023 at The Royal Ballet School, Covent Garden - 13.15 - 17.45 (times tbc). The afternoon will showcase some of the work the Trust supports, including performances by the Cecchetti Scholars and the 2023 Vocational Award and Scholarship winners. During the afternoon there will also be the opportunity to socialise with colleagues and guests over afternoon tea.

We are delighted to be joined by our Trust Patron, Dame Monica Mason who will be introducing Laura Morera, Principal of The Royal Ballet coaching the Spring and Summer Fairy Variations from the company’s new production of Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella.

To conclude the programme we are very pleased to welcome Gerald Dowler in conversation with Brandon Lawrence, Principal, Birmingham Royal Ballet. Brandon will be sharing his experiences from studio to stage, before he takes up his new role next season as Principal with Ballett Zürich.

From Studio to Stage is open to Cecchetti teachers, students (minimum age 11 years) and to all ballet lovers who would like to know more about Cecchetti and the work of the Trust. FROM STUDIO TO STAGE

Student Summer Study Bursaries
Application Deadline - 20th May 2023

The Trust is offering Students Summer Study Bursaries to support young dancers who are attending a Cecchetti Summer School or intensive course of Cecchetti study in the coming months in the UK or Internationally. Students must be aged 12 - 21 years by the 31st August 2023 and studying at Grade 6/Intermediate Foundation level or higher. Don’t miss the deadline of 20th May 2023 for your students to apply for a Cecchetti Society Trust Student Summer Study Bursary. STUDENT SUMMER BURSARIES

Teacher Study Bursaries 2023

The Trust has been pleased to be able to support 9 teachers who recently applied for a Teacher Study Bursary - the applicants were from the UK, Ireland and Italy studying at a range of levels from DDE to Diploma. Some funding is still available in the Trust bursary allocation, so if you have planned study that will take place in 2023 and wish to apply, please click on the link below for further information and an application form. NB Applications must be returned to admin@cecchettisocietytrust.org by 20th June 2023.
